Helen Anderson of Minchinbury PS gives us some background to the fabulous display of talent seen at the Minchinbury Little Athletics Fun Night.
"Minchinbury PS Band now has 35 students studying music each week through the music program " Musix with Music"
Mrs Anderson, the music teacher at Minchinbury PS encourages students to learn a concert band instrument and loves the children to have gigs like this one to perform in.
Our students performed a range of Christmas Carols and popular tunes such as Hogan's Heroes.
Minchinbury PS were also proud to present our dance troupe performing " Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from the Disney movie ' Mary Poppins"
Our dancers are aged 7-10 and were selected to perform at the "Lets Celebrate Education Concert" held at Rooty HIll RSL earlier in the year.
This was a wonderful experience for all of our budding musicians.
Our students are primary aged and we often have wonderful helpers from other local high schools offering support when we need it.
Mrs Anderson would like to thank High School students, Ashleigh Cullen( drummer) Alex Agaciak ( trumpet), Sarah Hewitt and Amber Brown ( clarinet) for helping us out on Friday night.
Our Mary Poppins was impeccably performed by Brooke Paulley with our two terrific "Chimmney Sweeps"
Cameron Holmes and Anthony Surace in support along with the Mary Poppins Troupe.
This item was choreographed by Rosie Surace( Rooty HIll HS student), Monique Holmes( Newtown Performing Arts ) students and Mrs Anderson, Teacher at MPS
Costumes coordinated by Teacher Linda Bartlett."
